Under The Sea Vacation

Hiya everyone :) I have been vacationing on the island. I have been sorting through the multiple blogs, social networks, radio shows, and other sites I have spending time on and have whittled the list down to my very favorites as to focus on the ones I can better manage. I absolutely love to post on different Blogs and Social Networks and enjoy doing reviews on these sites :) I also enjoy Video Games and Gaming, with a few favorites and am currently working on a few very cool sites along these lines.

Here is a list of the sites I am going to focus on. Unfortunately, I cannot keep working the crazy hours I have been ( I would be surprised if anyone could for more than one and a half to two years straight lol :). So, I have whittled and weaned and decided on the following sites:

Let me tell you a bit about my venture and vacation over the past four weeks :)

This is one of the coolest places I have ever been with a couple of large towns surrounded by various smaller ones. The people of this community are the absolute best and interaction with them is always a joy. There is always something new and exciting happening so be sure not to blink :)

Visiting the various landscapes of the island is an adventure in itself. On one side of the island are lush forested landscapes and farther to the east are desert lands, some sprinkled with palm trees and beautiful water features. Areas so vast that you may not come across another person for long stretches of time and towns packed to the gills, where you interact and make countless friends.

With so much to keep you busy, there is never a dull moment. If you enjoy some great fishing spots, this is the place for you. Ready areas to cook them up are available for your pleasure and experience as well. I become an expert in one of the activities they have to offer having fun and gaining experience along the way. Parties and groups get together regularly to travel into charted and uncharted territories. Get points with the island owners by ridding the towns of unwanted visitors and enemies using your gifted skills. A most relaxing and fulfilling vacation spot.

The towns are equipped for travelers from across the globe with banks, vendors for countless items, transportation, and food. The weather is always beautiful on the island as it hasn't rained in some time, seemingly never :) Always a friendly experience with helpful characters and visitors.

So...where am I talking about? Hmmmm....what is this island and where is it located? The Caribbean? Off Key West's Coast or Florida's East Coast?...

Nope :) OgreIsland.com Come and visit Woodly, Wavecritter or Wyverex and give us a wave (type in /wave) to say hello :)

Under The Sea Ares

I thought this a fitting topic and awesome sand design for the Under The Sea blog...All that is Myth Web and the God Of War Ares so boldly captured in this sand rendition! Heres a bit on the Greek God Of War!
ARES (AIR-eez; Roman name Mars) was the god of war, or more precisely of warlike frenzy. Though an immortal deity, he was bested by Heracles in battle and was almost killed when stuffed into a jar by two giants. When another hero wounded him during the Trojan War, he received scant sympathy from his father Zeus.

In appearance, Ares was handsome and cruel. He is often depicted carrying a bloodstained spear. His throne on Mount Olympus was said to be covered in human skin.

The Roman god Mars, with whom Ares was identified, was the father of Romulus and Remus, the mythological founders of Rome. Thus he was more important to the Romans than his Greek counterpart. He was also more dignified.

Mr. Johnson and The Toad

Mr. Johnson was a friend and I saw him walking down the street yesterday. I went up to him and he was cupping his hands out in front of him. I said "Mr.Johnson, what have you got there in your hands?" He replied, "a toad." "Oh, and where are you going with the Toad?" "I am taking him to the zoo Lenny", replied Mr. Johnson.

The next day I was again walking down the street and ran into Mr. Johnson again. He was still cupping his hands out in front of him, so I asked what he had today. Mr. Johnson said, "My Toad." With a puzzled look I asked "I thought you took him off to the zoo yesterday?" He replied, "Yes, and today I am taking him to the movies."

Under The Sea With The Living Fossil

Horseshoe Crabs are numerous here in Florida. They are slow moving and very cool to watch. If they get flipped over they are trouble sometimes but usually can flip back using their pokey tail by digging into the sand and pushing down.

Being on the Earth for millions of years, the Horseshoe Crab is also called the Living Fossil. Neat huh?

Like the Bull Shark, the male Horseshoe Crab is smaller than the female, usually between 7 inches to 2 feet long in the shell area. Their tails are usually a bit longer than their body.

The Horseshoe Crabs eyes are located on the top of the front of their shells and their mouths are located on the underside.

They spawn in inlets like Mosquito Lagoon and all up the East Coast of the US. Horseshoe Crabs population in declining and if you would like to get involved in the Horseshoe Crab watch, and let them know where and how many you have seen, what sizes, then visit the Fish and Wildlife Research Site: http://research.myfwc.com/features/view_article.asp?id=18561

Under The Sea With Bull Sharks

Bull Sharks live in Tropical to Sub Tropical Climates. They like to stay in fairly shallow waters about 100 feet or so, but do go to around 150 feet deep. They also have been known to venture inland in brackish or fresh water upstream but prefer to stay in the shallower waters off the coast. Bull Sharks migrate North during the summer months and hang out in the Caribbean waters or Tropical climates in the winter months.

Female Bull Sharks tend to be larger than males, about 12 and a half feet in length and weighing around 600 pounds for a full grown female. They have small eyes, a blunt, short, and broad snout. They are gray on top and white on the underside with dark tipped fins.

Bull Sharks eat what they want: bony fishes, other sharks, garbage, squid, crabs, sea turtles and are nudgers. They bump you before they bite :)

An interesting Shark in general, probably one of the most aggressive Sharks to encounter, certainly off Floridas East Coast.
